We are so excited to announce the 2024 DYA show!
For the first time, we will be holding auditions for the role of Matilda before camp begins. Auditions will be open ONLY to returning DYA campers in grades 3rd-8th.
(All other camper roles will be auditioned the first few days of camp.)

What: Auditions for the role of Matilda
When: Saturday, February 24, 2024
Time: 3pm- 5pm
Where: Oak Lawn United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall

What to prepare: 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song that is similar to the style of Matilda. You are more than welcome to sing from the show, but it is not required. Please be familiar with the songs that Matilda sings in case we need to hear a little of those. Also, you may be asked to read some scenes from the show.
Expectations: Because of the scope of the role of Matilda, there will be required time with the creative team to learn the part before camp begins. All scheduling of will happen after the auditions are over and the role has been cast. The creative team will work with the family/families involved to come up with a reasonable amount of time that also works with their schedule. They will also need to be available during intern week June 3-7.
